Nancy’s Kritter Kind Straw Blankets

Our Kritter Kind Erosion Control Blankets are designed to both get the job done and benefit the environment in every way possible. While traditional mesh ECBs often entangle small animals such as rabbits and snakes, Kritter Kind blankets are designed with NatureZone™ netting from ConWed®, a material that’s both softer and more elastic than conventional blankets. The blankets are also photodegradable, leaving no trace once they’ve completed their task.

We emphasize animal-friendliness with Nancy’s Kritter Kind ECBs, but that doesn’t mean we sacrifice quality.

Soil Saver Circle Top Pins

Our Circle Top blanket pins, when hammered in using our patented Soil Saver Mallet, make for the optimal installation experience.

We shape the heads of our pins into an “O”—versus the conventional wicket-shaped “staple”—so that the head covers a greater surface area of blanket, holding it down more snug in the process. Attach the steel Circle Tops to the magnetic Soil Saver Mallet and you can lay thousands of pins without once getting on your hands and knees, saving both time and aches.

Soil Saver Pounders

The toughest part to installing any ECB is pinning it to the ground. In order to keep the blanket as snug as possible to the soil, a team of workers needs to place at least one pin for every square yard. That’s a lot of time and effort when you consider that a lengthy drainage project can cover thousands of square yards.

Our patented Soil Saver Mallet was designed to make the process and quick and pain-free as possible. Other methods require the worker to get down on hands-and-knees to apply every pin, but the magnetic head of our mallet allows you to attach one of our Soil Saver Circle Top Pins without leaving your feet. A team can walk and hammer with ease compared to other options.

"Erosion control is a necessary task for anyone in agriculture.
Our goal is to make sure animals, plants and soil don’t suffer because of it.”

6
Leave one foot of blanket unpinned, and bury that end in a 6” x 8” trench.

ABOUT US

about us

Celebrating 15 years in the industry...

Nancy’s Blankets was founded to serve the need for quality erosion control products to be used in waterway construction. From there, the idea developed to produce a unique erosion control blanket that not only protected new seeding, but also kept safe the variety of small animals that can become entangled in conventional ECBs. The final goal was to make installation as easy as possible.

Our eco-friendly intentions have always been backed by a commitment to excellence in all of our products. Our Soil Saver pins and mallets share the same, strong quality of our namesake Kritter Kind ECBs.
